My nanny

I was going through my old pile of photos for the montage and I found this photo. The lady in the picture is my nanny. My nanny took care of me and my sister while we are just toddlers.

I remembered that she had a dog call Maggie.

I remembered that I always watched indian serial with her in the afternoons.

I remembered that I could speak a good command of Cantonese.

I remembered my chinese name was given by Yi Qiong 阿姨。

I remembered she always call my sister "fen fen"

I remembered the room that the three of us shared while waiting for our own house to be set up.

I remembered the "var-na-kam" from the indian news host at 6pm. To me, it's the happiest word at that time cos that means my parents were coming soon.

Suddenly I remembered alot of things that seems forgotten.

Its amazing how a little ole photo can revive your faded memories.

Pre wedding shot

When we first met up with Gilbert from 9 Frames, he asked us what is our idea of our prewedding shots.

I told him, I wanted something or somewhere that will remind me of how it all started between Ivan and I so be it 10 years or 20 years later, the memories will still be there.

So I asked him, is it possible to take my wedding shots there in Orchard. The walkway connecting Tangs to Isetan. He said " Why not?

The photos did not really turn out to my expectations but we really had fun shooting these photos. Everyone has been kind to us. Total strangers and tourists stood by and gave us their blessings, some even requested to take photos with us. The smile on their faces. Wished that I had a camera too. The shopowner of Hua Yi even lend out their shop for us to take photos and even asked us if we want some la mian as props.

Thanks, people! You have made our wedding shoot special.

Wedding Invites

Pan Pac had given us these choices after we told them we are not printing the inserts from their recommended printer.

There was intially 3 choices of colours. Red envelopes/ black cards, silver envelopes with silver cards and the last one was like deep plum envelopes/deep plum cards.

The moment we saw the black cards, we so wanted them because we are choosing black seat covers with maroon table cloth for our dinner set-up and they do give a modern twist to the traditional cards. But then again , the silver cards are like so divine... (to me at least)

And we are quite sure that our parents will not quite like the idea of giving out black cards so when the co-ordinator told us she can give us our two choices.. WOah!!!!

Betrothal

2nd May 2010 - Ivan's mum said its a good day for betrothal and because of our overseas guests, we decided to do it on this day. Also, happens to be Angela's birthday!

I am not very good at narrating so I will just let the pictures do the talking.
